North Temperate Lakes - Long Term Ecological Research

Located in Wisconsin, the Northern Temperate Lakes LTER studies lake ecosystems from the forested landscapes of the Northern Highlands to the lakes in the agricultural and urban catchments of Southern Wisconsin. Scientists explore how past present and future interactions of the biophysical setting, climate, and changing land use shape the dynamics and characteristics of lakes. LTER is one of the research programs of the Center for Limnology and Trout Lake Station.
